I started skating at two years old. I grew up playing many different sports including hockey, baseball, football and golf, but most of all I loved to play hockey.   I continued my hockey career throughout high school and college. After college I found speed skating.

I started speed skating in 1992. After many ups and downs I continued to improve and pushed past the many critics to secure spots on the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympic teams. After a brief retirement and the birth of my daughter I have decided to make another run at my dream of winning a gold medal in the 2006 Olympic Games in Torino, Italy.

My future goals:

I would like to help other young athletes realize their dreams. I believe it is important to listen and nurture our children and their passions.   So many people told me about the odds and my chances. It was the few people that stepped up and told me I could accomplish anything that helped drive me to become a US Olympian.

I would like to qualify for the US Amateur Golf Tournament, participate in Open events on the PGA tour and eventually secure a spot on the Champions tour at age 50.
